The Iowa Theatre needed to upgrade to a digital projection system in order to continue showing films once 35mm prints were no longer available. This ad was designed to increase patronage for the theatre so they could afford the conversion.

 

Two possible “futures” of the theatre were digitally created: one with the theatre restored and one as it would appear if closed. Both images were created from a single photo of the theatre at the time. Click the thumbnails to view the different versions.
